The Doepfer A-130-8 Octal Linear VCA module contains eight linear voltage controlled amplifiers (VCAs). A control voltage input (CV), a signal input (In) and a signal output (Out) are available for each VCA. In addition, 3 mixers are built in. The mix signal for units 1 to 4 appears at the socket labeled “1-4”. The mix signal for units 5 to 8 appears at the socket labeled “5-8”. labeled socket shows the mix signal of all eight units.
The signal inputs can process levels of up to approx. 20Vss without distortion (20Vss = 20V peak-to-peak or approx. -10V – + 10V). A trimming potentiometer is available internally for each control input, with which the sensitivity of the input can be set. The module is set at the factory for control voltages in the range 0 – + 5V. However, it can also be set for other control voltage ranges (e.g. 0 – + 10V) with the aid of the trimming potentiometer.
The gain range of each individual VCA is 0 – 1. The signals in the three sum outputs have a lower gain in order to avoid distortion at the outputs.
APPLICATIONS:
- Any kind of VCA application (eg voltage controlled attenuation of audio or control voltage signals)
- Two voltage controlled mixers with four channels each
- Voltage controlled stereo mixer with four channels each, for this the control voltage inputs have to be correspondingly patched or internally normalled: CV1 = CV5 / CV 2 = CV6 / CV3 = CV7 / CV4 = CV8
- Voltage controlled mixer with eight channels
- Add-on for the joystick module A-174-4
